Walking along the railway tracks and hopping on and off moving freight trains appears to be on the increase which worries New Brunswick Southern Railway, Police and the fire department.
Police Sergeant Jeff LaFrance warns you could very well stumble while trying to jump on board a moving train, putting them in danger of losing a hand, arm or leg and it’s not just teenagers doing this.
LaFrance also warns you could be walking along the railway track and, if a train comes, have nowhere to go. He also points out a lot of people wear ear buds and listen to music in which case you wouldn’t be able to hear the train coming.
