Three fisheries conservation projects were carried out this summer in Southeast New Brunswick and the federal government has announced $74,000 to help fund them.
Greater Moncton M-P Robert Goguen made the announcement on behalf of the federal fisheries minister.
Goguen says one of the projects involved the Kouchibouguacis River in Saint-Louis-de-Kent and removing a decaying wall along the river and planting roughly 250 trees, shrubs and plants.
Another project involved restoring the Tedish River in the Cap-Pele area including removing old beaver dams and planting seedlings along the riverbank.
The final project involved removing beaver dams and replanting river banks along the Scoudouc and Shediac Rivers.
