More than half of working age New Brunswickers have literacy and numeracy skills below the level needed to cope with everyday life and work.
The YMCA of Greater Moncton is trying to improve upon those results with their Youth Tutor Program.
Y-Director Jamie McLellan tells us they’re working to launch the program by the end of October.
The Y is still taking school referrals from parents interested in having their children tutored through the program.
