NB Power has reduced its net debt by $62 million so far this year and expects to record a fifth consecutive year of earnings in 2014-15.
Net earnings for the third quarter came to $43 million compared to a net loss of $15 million for the same period in 2013/14.
In-province revenue increased by $11 million compared to last year mainly due to a two per cent rate increase in October of 2013 while out-of-province revenue was $2 million lower because of lower sales.
The Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station operated at nearly 100 per cent capacity for 160 consecutive days and that helped to lower fuel expenses by 17 million dollars.
