More than 40 schools with fewer than 100 students will face closure over the next couple of years with the provincial government’s new policy on education.
Rob Fowler chairs the District Education Council in Anglophone South and he says the number of students around the province has now dropped to 98 thousand with declining enrollments having budgetary ramifications.
Fowler also points out with small enrollments, schools can’t offer the types of programmes the students deserve.
