There are many varying opinions after the Gallant Government upheld the moratorium on fracking. Some are criticizing , while others are applauding the decision.
One of the people happy about the decision is Jim Emberger – a spokesman for the New Brunswick Anti – Shale Gas Alliance.
Emberger says while the moratorium is a big step forward, he is eager to learn more about the details of the 5 conditions to be met before fracking can proceed.
He says, “Details on how we are going to meet those conditions to get the government talking with the people about what those standards should be, and we’re certainly happy to participate in that process with the government to help develop those standards.”
Emberger says he is looking forward to hearing more details about the conditions surrounding the moratorium as well as engaging with the government to provide clear and credible information on the risks and rewards of fracking.
