Get active and healthy, that’s the message being delivered across the province this week.
Community Development Officer with Parks and Leisure Services for the City of Moncton Joanne Lamarche says it’s all a part of Wellness Week.
She says, “We encourage eating well, taking care of yourself, taking time for yourself and of course, being active. It’s an initiative through the province of New Brunswick and they promote it and invite all communities to take part. It is held each year from October 1st to the 7th.”
Free activities are being offered this week at the many recreational centres, including the YMCA, Crossman Community Centre, St. Pat’s and at the Red Ball Internet Centre. They include swimming, skating, walking and running.
There are also activities offered in Riverview and Dieppe.
