It’s estimated millennials and members of Generation Z, who are born after 2000, will make up half of the workforce by the year 2020, rising to three-quarters by 2030.
The Chief Economist of the Business Development Bank, Pierre Cleroux says they’re more tech savvy but want a balance between the time spent on the job and outside it. He adds employers will have to provide more training to keep them interested and they’re seeking purpose from their work.
Another emerging trend is the growing prevalence of E-commerce. Cleroux says 57 per cent of business to business buying is done online and that will only grow in the years ahead
