The trees are ready for planting and the volunteers are ready to dig.
Their shovels will go into the ground on Hildegard Drive in northwest Moncton starting at 9am tomorrow as they plant three rows of 125 flowering trees in honour of the three fallen RCMP officers who were killed in the neighbourhood last year.
Jeff Mowat helped coordinate the Hildegard Beautification Project and says they have a whole day of celebration planned.
Kids activities are planned on the street including a bouncy castle and a concert which will run from 10am to 1pm.
The kids will also hold a bike parade on Hildegard Drive at 11:30am with an RCMP motorcycle escort on Hildegard Drive.
Mowat says this project was a way of giving thanks and will also serve as a reminder of the sacrifice the officers made – but in a very positive way.
