Moncton’s Relish Gourmet Burgers restaurant in downtown Moncton, just reopened a few months ago but it will now close its doors for good this weekend Sunday will be its last day of business.
It plans to relocate to open a second location in Halifax.
Co-Founder Rivers Corbett says the downtown may have been a factor in why the business didn’t fare as well as they had hoped.
He says, “In my opinion, the downtown wasn’t the right spot because the downtown core isn’t a Thursday, Friday, Saturday dining location and that’s when restaurants make their money.”
Corbett admits they made some mistakes along the way and says they have Moncton on the radar to return to reopen in the future, in another location.
Relish Gourmet Burgers previously had locations in Saint John and Miramichi, but both closed.
They have found success in Fredericton, Halifax and in St. John’s, Newfoundland.
