The house on the east side of Saint John that was owned by disgraced former city councillor Donnie Snook has been sold at public auction.
The Royal Bank held the mortage and became the winning bidder at $45,000.00.
More than $11,000.00 in taxes is owing on the property.
The other bidder, area resident Charlie O’Brien, went as high as $40,000.00 but dropped out saying there is a public stigma and the house could be difficult to sell.
Snook was sentenced to 18 years in prison for sexually abusing young boys and is serving his time in Mission, B.C.
