A repatriation ceremony is being held at Canadian Forces Base Trenton, Ontario for a Metro Moncton soldier killed in Iraq.
Sergeant Andrew Joseph Doiron was with Canada’s mission in Iraq when he was killed by friendly fire last Friday.
Doiron, who had been stationed at CFB Petawawa, Ontario, was part of a 69-member team working alongside Kurdish forces to help fight ISIS.
A motorcade carrying Doiron’s casket will head west along the Highway 401, the so-called “Highway of Heroes”, to the coroner’s office in Toronto where an autopsy will be conducted.
