An arrest has been made after a woman on Horsfield Street in the south end of Saint John called Police about a man following her. A 27 year old man was arrested on Waterloo Street.
Police believe he’s responsible for attempting to assault two other women back in January. One incident happened on Waterloo Street and the other on Princess. Back then, his image was captured by a surveillance camera.
Julia Wright, who worked as a reporter for CHSJ News and the Wave, noticed a man was following her after making her way across King Square to Charlotte Street with some groceries all the way to her front door. She called police after seeing him commit an indecent act outside her building.
Earlier yesterday, shortly before 7 in the morning, a woman was walking to work on Paul Harris Street when she was grabbed twice by a man who had been following her. He was scared off.
Wright says she recognised the clothing the man who followed her was wearing from the surveillance photo released by police following the assaults in January.
This morning, police responded to a call on King Street East from a woman who claimed a man, who was carrying a knife, fell and stabbed himself in the chest.
