The Moncton Wildcats are into the home stretch before they head into the playoffs…
They’ll play the Mooseheads tonight in Halifax before returning to the Moncton Coliseum for their last two home games of the regular season…
Conor Garland says the fans help bring a lot to the game for the players.
He says, “When it’s a packed house, there’s no better rink to play in in the Quebec League. We have such great fans, and anytime they see us out in the public they’re always wishing us luck.”
He says the team has really played well together this year, “We have a great chemistry with the team. Everyone likes everyone, and we have a great chemistry. I think that is one of our huge keys this year.”
Moncton needs one victory to secure a top two finish in the standings.
Garland says they’ve been working very hard this season and the playoffs will be no different.
“We have a young team this year, so we haven’t had a lot of guys play in the playoffs. The speed of the game is very different, so I think just getting the guys into the speed and getting used to it. I think it really only takes a period or so. I think we have a team built to go deep in the playoffs and everyone is just ready to get it going.”
They’ll wrap up the regular season with home games at home at the Moncton Coliseum, Friday night against Halifax and on Saturday against Charlottetown…
