A 43 year old man who served ten years in in prison for a serious sex assault has been released from Dorchester Penitentiary on numerous conditions, and has decided to call Moncton his new home.
John Julius Obed is originally from Newfoundland. He attacked and sexually assaulted a woman from his home province, and also has other previous convictions.
He was also deemed at risk to reoffend and could be a danger to the public.
Conditions include staying at his home between 9pm and 6 am. He also must make police aware of any personal relationships with women to ensure she is aware of his criminal history, and he is not allowed to attempt to contact any of his past victims or their families.
