Insurance companies are busy with claims from this winter’s mess in Atlantic Canada.
Over 300 centimetres of snow has fallen in New Brunswick, P.E.I and Nova Scotia.
More is expected this weekend.
The Insurance Bureau of Canada’s Atlantic Vice-President, Amanda Dean, says continued snowfall is taking a significant toll on families.
She encourages people to contact their insurance reps if there is damage to your property.
Dean adds, taking photos of damage is also a good idea.
She also says people to clear their yards of any debris, shovel walkways and remove snow or ice attached to your home.
People should be as detailed as possible when providing information to insurance companies.
