A weekend of celebration will follow the highly anticipated opening of Cabela’s in Moncton this spring.
On May 28th, the festivities will kick off with a ribbon cutting ceremony using a bow and arrow instead of scissors.
The rest of the weekend will have family events, giveaways and special appearances.
The 53,000 square foot store is opening near the intersection of the Mapleton Parkway and the TransCanada highway.
It is designed to immerse the shopper in a fun, outdoor like experience, with a large mountain replica, log and stone construction, wildlife displays and an indoor archery range.
It will also include a fly shop, firearms counter, conference room, fudge shop and “Bargain Cave.”
In addition to the products they sell, they will host educational seminars and demonstrations year round providing tips and insight on outdoor products and activities.
Approximately 140 people from Moncton and the surrounding area are getting jobs at Cabela’s, covering full time, part time, and seasonal jobs.
It is the first Cabela’s location to open in Atlantic Canada.
