Moncton firefighters are on scene this afternoon at the Lily Chinese Buffet on Mountain Road.
Platoon Chief Brian Gaudet says they arrived at the restaurant around 1-pm with smoke and fire in the kitchen.
“They felt like there was heat coming from the wall and it was becoming hotter and hotter fairly rapidly so that’s when they realized they were being overwhelmed by something in the wall.”
No one was inside the restaurant by the time firefighters arrived and no one was hurt.
A fire investigator is remaining on site to try and find a cause.
