With the downtown centre coming closer to a reality each day, arguments are being put forward by both sides as to its use.
President of Comztar Commercial Properties Cathy Sweet says we should take this opportunity to create a big centre to really boost the economy.
She says she would like to see it scaled even larger than it is planned now.
“To trade one centre for another centre from a size perspective doesn’t necessarily have as much of an effect on the economy for attracting new and larger events to New Brunswick such as larger conventions,” says Sweet.
Sweet says attracting bigger events means bigger spin offs for the local economy and that’s all good news for Greater Moncton.
