The Atlantic Wellness Community Centre in Riverview relies on fundraising and donations to keep its doors open but in 2015, many have rallied to support the centre financially.
Executive Director Lesley Smyth says they received large grants this year, from several organizations including Medavie Blue Cross, United Way and Bell Let’s Talk.
“Overall it’s been a very promising and great year, and now we’re looking to next year and seeing how we can build on this momentum,” says Smyth.
The centre provides free professional counselling to youth who are struggling with mental health concerns and has been doing so since 2012.
This year roughly 350 youth used their services.
