A local veterinarian clinic is the first in Atlantic Canada to receive a credential that ensures your pet will be receive the best critical care.
Oaks Vet on Mapleton Road, has received its Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society Level 2 certification. It is only the second in Canada to receive this credential.
Dr. Chantal Houle says getting certified was a very in depth process that took around eight months to complete, “It was over 100 pages of typed data, hundreds of photos from the hospital, a video walking through the hospital, because they don’t do specific on site evaluations because of the cost.”
Dr. Houle says the Oaks Vet Clinic was the first 24 hour emergency veterinary clinic in the Atlantic provinces, and they have a Vet on site 365 days a year.
It employs 25 staff members, including six veterinarians.
