A dream more than two decades in the making is finally coming true for a Moncton restauranteur.
Zio’s Pizza Owner Operator Sandro Speranza is building a new full service 200 seat, 8,500 square foot restaurant on the corner of Mountain Road and Church Street.
He says Baci will feature fresh authentic Italian food all made on the premises.
“We found Baci was a nice name, it wraps around like a kiss, every love story starts with a kiss, we wrapped that feeling around the food we’re going to be making in the future,” says Speranza. “It’s quite a day for me.”

He says putting Baci on that particular corner means a lot to him personally.

“I was born two streets over, I’ve been here all my life, since 1961 I’ve been on this block, and I started making pizzas in 1981,” says Speranza. “And it’s always been great to me, and finally I was able to buy all the property around here and now I’m going to put this Italian restaurant together and it’s going to be just unbelievable.”

Speranza says the $4 million restaurant should be complete by December, and will bring 60 – 70 food service jobs to the area.
