Premier Gallant insists the ministers who are leaving cabinet are not being punished.
He suggested that Victor Boudreau, Dr. Ed Doherty and Donald Arsenault may not re-offering for next year’s election.
He says there is no doubt there all three have contributed a lot to the government over the last few years and to previous Liberal governments in opposition and they will be missed.
The Premier will also be getting an office in Saint John and Jack Keir will be part of the staff there.
The former MLA and Energy Minister joined the Premier’s office earlier this year.
We asked Saint John Mayor Don Darling if he’d be offering the Premier some office space at City hall.
He laughed and said no. Darling thinks the Premier should be able to find some office space uptown to work out of.
Darling steered clear of the politics but he says having the Premier in Saint John is good news for their priorities over the next year.
