Federal Finance Minister Bill Morneau has tweeted since the Liberals were elected, 400 thousand jobs have been added to the Canadian economy.
Stats Canada reports the unemployment rate nationally last month fell to 6.2 per cent with the addition of 22,000 jobs. This is the lowest unemployment rate in 9 years. The job gains were part-time.
In New Brunswick, the unemployment rate stood at 7.8 per cent. The province recorded a loss of 1,700 fulltime jobs with the addition of 1,200 part-time jobs.
The Saint John unemployment rate is down to 5.8 per cent from 6.2 per cent. There was also a drop in Moncton from 5.2 to 5.1 per cent.
