Codiac RCMP is reporting the majority of drivers are respecting school zones so far this school year.
On Monday, officers focused traffic enforcement initiatives on speeding in school zones, and crosswalks including those with a crossing guard.
Traffic was monitored both at the beginning and the end of the school day.
Staff Sergeant Eric Larose says the majority of drivers reduced their speed, and were attentive to both students and traffic.
He reports they issued ten tickets in total – six for speeding in a school zone, and four for other infractions.
Larose says Codiac RCMP will continue to do spot checks on school zones and bus stops throughout the school year.
