Today is the first annual “Becca Told Me To” Day, in honour of inspirational teen Becca Schofield asking people to perform random acts of kindness in her honour.
Riverview Mayor Ann Seamans says Becca is certainly amazing, and while going through her own enormous challenge of terminal brain cancer she’s thinking of others and encouraging them to do good.
“She’s changed our town, she’s changed the world, and at times when it is really challenging in the world, and we see what Becca has done to bring positives at a time like this, it’s hard to believe that a young girl could make such a difference,” says Seamans.
She says everyone is welcome to the Riverview Arts Centre starting at 11 to join a day of musical celebration on “Becca Told Me To” Day.
Becca was awarded a Canada 150 pin Friday by Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe Member of Parliament Ginette Petitpas Taylor which recognizes extraordinary contributions a person makes to their community.
