UPDATE: RCMP say the missing 69-year-old woman from Maces Bay, who was reported missing last night, has been located, safe and sound.
The Mounties in St. George are looking for an elderly woman who has been missing since last evening and who the town of St. George says suffers from Alzheimer’s.
Police say that 69-year-old Martha Comeau from Maces Bay went missing on the walking trails in the St. George Area and it’s thought that she was on the trails that go from the Day Adventure Centre to Manor Road when she was separated from her husband.
She’s Caucasian, 4’1″ and weighs around 120 pounds. She was wearing black clothes and slip-on walking shoes. You’re asked to call 911 immediately if you see her.
The St. George detachment, RCMP police dog services, town fire department, along with ground search and rescue teams from York Sunbury, Greater Fundy and Charlotte County have been deployed to search the area.
The town also says access to walking trails around the river are currently restricted until further notice, and they ask residents to avoid these areas, respect the barricades and emergency personnel.
