Auditions are underway for another large musical production at Capitol Theatre in Moncton.
The performance of “Mary Poppins” will hit the stage early next year.
Director Marshall Button says they are looking for anyone interested in taking to the stage, “Mary Poppins, many people know the show, but as a play, it is slightly different than the movie. We’re looking for people who not only act and sing, but dance as well. We’ve heard from a few people with tap dancing experience, and there are a couple of really big numbers in the show. It is really great to discover, in our backyard, someone who has done something 25 years ago, and they are looking to get back into it. it is always astounding to met these people and be blown away by what they can do.”
Auditions were held in Prince Edward Island this week. They will begin in Moncton on Sunday, and Button says he will also be heading to Toronto next month..
Anyone who is interested, should sent a bio, resume and headshot to auditions@capitol.nb.ca
The eight performance run of Mary Poppins will be performed from February 24th to March 4.
Tickets will go on sale to Capitol Theatre members on November 1st, then to the general public on November 15th.
