Southeast RCMP are investigating a collision between a car and a moose which has claimed the life of a 54-year-old Fredericton man.
Police say the man died Tuesday from injuries suffered in the crash over the weekend.
A 56-year-old woman passenger was hospitalized.
The collision took place in the westbound lanes of the Trans Canada near Memramcook late Saturday.
Speed and alcohol have been ruled out.
St.Thomas University President Dawn Russell confirms on the school’s website that the man who died was Professor Brian Carty and students on campus are being provided counselling if needed.
