Blue-green algae has been confirmed at the Tower Road Reservoir, but residents are being reassured that it is the community’s secondary drinking water supply source, and this will not affect the water supply that comes from the Turtle Creek reservoir.

Under conditions such as warmer water temperatures, high nutrient loads, and other influences, blue-green algae can multiply quickly and create blooms which commonly occur in summer or early fall.
