The Re-Centre program has entered phase 2.
The goal of the program was to improve the recycling system, and look at how it can be used as a tool for existing depots and redemption centres.
Project Coordinator Tim Pidgeon says the response has been very good, and they will soon open up the membership to more participants.
“Well we do have we a waiting list from the first phase, people have signed up wanting to participate, and we’ll be opening up membership hopefully in the next few weeks so we’ll be accepting another batch of participants for the second phase,” says Pidgeon.
He says phase one tested new ways of recycling in Moncton and they will be used as they move forward.
“Seeing how the Re-Centre can become a tool for an existing redemption centre to improve their customer experience and to improve efficiency,” says Pidgeon.
Pidgeon says at their Mountain Road Re-Centre location, participants can also drop off cardboard and electronics as well, to be recycled.
