It is business as usual at the The Homestead restaurant in Riverview, after this weekend’s collision.
A car slammed into the back of the building on Saturday, leaving a large hole in the wall.
Owner John Godfrey says in their 27 years in business, they haven’t had anything like this happen before, “No, we haven’t had anything like this happen. This is the most significant thing that has happened to us, no question about it.”
He expects repair work will begin in the coming weeks, “The building has been secured, and that is the main concern, that it is structurally sound. The process, I expect, will take place this afternoon and we will be meeting with Insurance Adjusters.”
A couple were sitting behind the wall where the car struck the building. Godfrey says the woman had just gone to the bathroom, and the husband was jostled, but fortunately they don’t believe he was seriously hurt.
