On November 11th, we will remember those who have made to ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. You’re encouraged to take in one of a number of ceremonies being held in the region for Remembrance Day.
The biggest Remembrance Day ceremony is held at the Moncton Coliseum. A parade inside will begin at 10:30am, with two minutes of silence at 11am. Thousands attend at the Coliseum to seeing the laying of the wreaths.
In Riverview, ceremonies will be held at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, beginning at 10:50am, and a reception will follow at the Dan Bohan Centre.
A parade will be held in Dieppe beginning at Ecole Anna Malenfant beginning at 10:30. The public is invited to a reception afterwards at the Dieppe Golden Age club.
In Sunny Brae, beginning at 10:45am, a parade will begin at the Legion. It will make its way down Massey Avenue to Sunny Brae Cenotaph for a service at 11am. Hundreds usually attend the services there.
There is also a ceremony held at Victoria Park, beginning at 10:45am.
For Salisbury residents, ceremonies are being held at the Legion on Main Street starting at 10am. Crowds will then gather at the Cenotaph at 11am.
Caledonia Regional High School will be where Hillsborough residents will pay tribute, starting at 10:45am.
In Petiticodiac, a laying of the wreaths at the Cenotaph at 11am. Prior to that, there will be a service at the Petitcodiac Baptist Church.
In Shediac, services get underway at 10am at LJR High School. There will be a parade to the Cenotaph from there.
