The projected provincial deficit is lower than forecast but the net debt is still rising.
The deficit is now being estimated at $135.4 million for 2017-18, a reduction of $56.6 million compared to what was budgeted for.
Projected revenue is predicted to be $22.5 million higher than budgeted for while expenditures are down by $34.1 million.
The province’s net debt is projected to increase by $298 million to $14.1 billion by March 31st.
