Moncton is the place to be for hockey fans over the next four days.
The 37th Annual Monctonian “AAA” Challenge got underway earlier today.
Chairman Blair Brooks says this tournament brings teams from across Canada, “As far West as Ontario and as far East as the tip of Newfoundland. The Bantam division is 13 and 14 years old, and the Midget division is 15 to 17.”
Brooks says there are 152 scouts registered, who are hoping to recruit their next big players.
He says this tournament brings thousands to the Hub City each year, “For the tournament alone, we have around 800 rooms that we are using. The player count would be in the 1100 range.”
There are 102 games over the next four days, most of them are being played at the Superior Propane Centre.
