A small turnout at last night’s meeting to talk about issues over rodents in the City of Moncton.
Ward 3 Councillor Bryan Butler says about nine residents came out to express their concerns, and to find out how the City and Pest control experts can help, “One of the things we had found, was when the calls started coming in about the rodents, some would be going to the Board of Works, some would go to Engineering, and some would go to By-Laws. We decided that the By-Law department will take the lead on it.”
Butler says the number of calls coming in, is now reduced, primarily because of the colder weather.
He says we all need to work together, “We can probably help this issue go away, or be a little better than it is now. The City needs to clean up their area, and the citizens who have unsightly stuff in their backyard, where these rodents can nest, I think it is their responsibility too.”
A second meeting will be held on November 22nd, at the Crossman Centre starting at 6:30pm.
Butler says they will then be adding all of the information to the City website, and will do a follow up and re-evaluate in the spring.
