The Financial and Consumer Services Commission of New Brunswick is looking at ways to help prevent the financial abuse of seniors.
CEO Rick Hancox says the abuse may start out innocently with family members but can eventually become a sense of entitlement.
“You know I can’t get out to buy my groceries today. So here son-n-law, here’s my bank card… can you go buy my groceries and by the way, the son-n-law also buys his own groceries and fills up his car with gas,” he says.
Several information sessions are being held across New Brunswick seeking feedback from the public.
FCNB will be coming to the Moncton Public Library on November 30th at 1:30pm.
