The Gallant government has signed a memorandum of understanding with a third company in New Brunswick to supply the recreational cannabis market.
The agreement with Campbellton-area Zenabis follows similar deals signed this year with two other producers, Organigram and Canopy Growth.
Zenabis CEO Kevin Coft says the announcement will allow the company to invest in machinery and equipment to provide a broad range of products for consumers.
The company has said it expects to eventually create about 400 jobs.
Last year, Zenabis received $4 million in provincial funding to help create positions.
Premier Brian Gallant maintains the province’s legislative framework will help get cannabis out of the hands of youth and the proceeds out of the hands of criminals.
