Rodent concerns will be up for discussion again tonight, at the second of two meetings being hosted by the City of Moncton.
City Councillor Bryan Butler says this is not a new issue, but he received more calls in 2017 as compared to last year, “Last year, the calls weren’t as bad, but there were some. I think one of the problems is, when we started construction, building homes and digging up roads to repair them, the Ryan Road and the Rennick Road.”
Butler says there have been less calls, since the colder weather arrived, but he says we can help improve the situation if we all work together, “Making sure you empty your bird feeder. Making sure that if there is any green garbage bags around, that you put them in a container.”
The public is invited to hear from pest control experts and City of Moncton officials tonight at the Crossman Community Centre. The meeting gets underway at 6:30.
Butler says once they provide information at tonight’s meeting and get more public input, there will be a follow up done next year, “We’ll probably follow up in the spring, because that is when you see rodents the most. If you call, and you see rodents in the area, I suspect that the City will go there, and then go next door and explain to them what needs to be done.”
