Registration is now underway for underprivileged families who want to participate in Moncton Headstart’s annual Christmas Toyland.
Executive director Mary O’Donnell says toys and monetary donations are being accepted until December 20th.
“The donation of toys is really an important piece for us plus it brings in a lot of different variety. When people make donations they bring things that sometimes we never even see in stores which is really neat because it does provide a lot of different choices for families,” she notes.
O’Donnell says about 1700 children received gifts through Toyland last year and a similar number is expected this year.
If families are eligible, she says each child will receive three toys valued up to 100 dollars in total.
She adds volunteers are also needed during the campaign to help distribute gifts to families.
