Moncton-based Corey Craig Group will be developing a hotel, restaurant and retail space on vacant land next door to the Downtown Events Centre and Plaza.
Moncton City Council has approved the sale of roughly two acres of surplus municipal land for $3 million.
Corey Craig Group president and CEO Craig O’Neill says this is the company’s most ambitious project to date which will include a 120 room Hyatt Place Hotel with meeting and retail spaces, a restaurant and 142 parking spots.
O’Neill says construction is expected to start next spring with an opening date in 2020.
A familiar name in Southeastern New Brunswick, Corey Craig Group operates Tim Horton’s, Wendy’s, Holiday Inn Express and Shell franchises and is involved in real estate development.
