It is expected to be another record breaking year for the Magnetic Hill Zoo.
Manager Bruce Dougan retired last week, but prior to him stepping off the job, he told us, they’ve had a lot of visitors in 2017, “Attendance in general at the Zoo is very good. I expect we will have a record this year, and we had a record last year. This year we are on par or a little ahead of last year, so we’re looking at between 190, 000 and 200, 000 people this year.”
Dougan says their many attractions throughout the year saw big numbers in 2017, “Boo at the Zoo saw record numbers, with over 11, 600 who attended. Other programs including Easter Eggstravaganza, Wild Lights and FunZoola were also well attended.”
He says there is always a good mixture of locals and tourists who visit the attraction, ” Boo at the Zoo is always a lot of locals, but they also attract others from Nova Scotia, Miramichi, Saint John and Fredericton. We also see tourists in the summer, who come from Ontario and Quebec as well, along with a number of other places.”
Dougan retired from his role as Manager on December 20th.
