Fire investigators will be on scene trying to figure out the cause of a residential garage fire in Berry Mills.
Moncton Fire Platoon Chief Brian Gaudet says the garage was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived on Isaiah Road around 6:30 last night.
With no hydrants nearby, Gaudet says water had to be shuttled in from the Magnetic Hill area.
“It becomes a bit of a challenge because there is some distance and the roads are slippery at this time of year and so on. So anything that affects the timing of the water shuttle delivery will affect how much water we can put on the fire,” he notes.
Gaudet says mutual aid from Riverview was initially requested when it was thought homes were threatened but that wasn’t the case when they arrived.
The garage is considered a total loss.
