The provincial government is beginning the process for disaster relief for residents affected by rising water levels and flooding.
Residents can now register to apply for the disaster financial assistance program.
The program provides assistance of up to $160,000 for structural repairs to private residences. Small businesses and not-for-profit organizations could receive up to $500, 000.
The first step is for residents to report the damages, but the province is recommending residents call their insurance companies first.
