A small village east of Fredericton is cut off from the rest of the province due to rising water levels along Grand Lake.
Every road in and out of the community of Chipman has been blocked off because of flooding.
Highway 10 to Fredericton was the last available option, but it was shut down Saturday afternoon west of the bridge in Chipman.
The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure says Bronson Settlement Road has been “brought to a better standard” so emergency vehicles and larger vehicles, like half-ton trucks, can access the community.
DTI says people with smaller vehicles should not use the temporary route.
