More than 1,300 customers in the Greater Moncton area are still without power as of 9AM, almost 24 hours after high winds wreaked havoc across New Brunswick.
On NB Power’s website, the estimated times of restoration in our area are between noon and one on Monday.
At times yesterday, the outages put almost 30,000 people in the dark across the province, due to trees and branches making contact with power lines.
Provincewide, approximately 3,500 customers are still without power.
In an update yesterday afternoon, NB Power spokesperson Marie Andree Bolduc said they were prioritizing efforts relating to flood situations, that is, emergency disconnects, and downed power lines and trees.
The public is also reminded to never approach or touch a downed wire as it could still be live, instead you’re asked to call NB Power to inform them of the situation.
