If you were out last night, surrounded by people, their cell phones probably chimed in unison as an emergency alert test went out at 6:55pm in New Brunswick.
Alert Ready, the national emergency alert system, will be tested in New Brunswick on Wednesday, May 9, at 6:55 p.m.
Please note that this test was pre-planned and has nothing to do with Flood response measures. https://t.co/CZO7yJEIiR

But there were a few who had to check their pockets to see if they had accidentally turned their phones off, because their alert didn’t come through.

Many took to social media to say they didn’t receive the alert.
There’s no word yet on why this happened in New Brunswick.
But there were reported glitches in other parts of the country when their alerts were issued, and not everyone received one.
You may also need to check to see if your phone is compatible or not to receive the alerts.
