Girls are needed for the Under 18 Female Flag Nationals team, to compete in August in Halifax.
Coach Robyn Neill says this is a great opportunity for those born in 2001 or 2002, who would like to learn and compete in the game of flag football.
“Last year was our first year submitting a team and we travelled all of the way to Vancouver. I’m really looking forward to bringing a second team. I just need the girls to come out an play,” Neil says.
Neil says all you need is an interest in the game, along with a pair of running shoes, and the Coaches will teach you the rest.
“Tryouts are May 27th. After that, there are three evaluation camps, two exhibition games versus Nova Scotia and that will wrap up the end of June. Then, once the team is chosen, there will be two training camps and then we have a five day tournament in Halifax,” Neil says.
Last year the team competed against five other provinces at the Nationals event, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec.
