The Canadian Red Cross is reaching out across New Brunswick to create awareness for the new Community Check-In program where volunteers keep an eye on seniors.
Spokesperson Bill Lawlor says wherever seniors and their loved ones go will be on their radar including community centres and medical practices.
Lawlor says more than 50 clients have been found so far along with about 35 volunteers with more sought.
The Red Cross is already aware there are seniors in their homes who may be vulnerable and need to be monitored.
As examples, Lawlor cites their response to recent disasters such as this spring’s flooding or last winter’s ice storm.
