Politicians, first responders, and citizens from across the country are reacting to the news of this morning’s shooting in Fredericton.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tweeted, saying his heart goes out to everyone affected and that government is following the situation closely.

New Brunswick Premier Brian Gallant, released a statement offering condolences to the families of the victims and praising the efforts of first responders.

Federal minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Ralph Goodale also tweeting saying he is deeply concerned by the situation and expressed thoughts for the victims.
I am deeply concerned about today’s shooting in Fredericton. With RCMP support, this developing situation is under investigation by Fredericton Police. Residents are encouraged to follow their direction. My thoughts are with the victims and their families at this difficult time.

Police from across the country are also reacting including Halifax Regional Police chief Jean-Michel Blais who spoke to Fredericton Police chief Leanne Fitch to offer support and expressed condolences and solidarity with the force.

The Halifax police force is also flying the New Brunswick flag in honour of the two fallen police officers.
Nova Scotia’s premier also weighed in on Twitter.

Ontario politicians including Toronto Mayor John Tory, tweeted expressions of condolence and support for the city.
Within the province of New Brunswick, the City of Saint John released a statement, offering support and resources to Fredericton.
“Thoughts and prayers are with the victims, families, responders and the entire Fredericton community. We offer Fredericton our full support and any required resources available in the days ahead. City flags will fly at half mast in honour of those who lost their lives today,” reads the statement.”
